Runway Model for Parkamaya

Selamat Hari Merdeka peeps! :D While everyone was shopping and spending quality time with their family or friends, I had to wake up super early to be Parkamaya's runway model. Okla, it's not that depressing, in fact it was quite fun! I've modeled for them before so this was my second time. They always dress us up in quirky colourful funky outfits to depict the 'kawaii' young spirit! The makeup and hairdo session started at 10am (the fashion show starts at 2pm), and while some models were getting dolled up, the rest were having their breakfast (the organizer bought Mc D for us! *how sweet right?!*) This round was quite different, because all the models had similar looks (pink eye shadow and bun up-do)... last time we all looked totally different with crazy bright coloured eye shadows ._. but really, I don't join because of the money.. I just think it's cool to be able to meet so many new people :) This time, we strut our catwalk to the new "Applause" song by Lady Gaga.

This was my first time modelling for them :)

Second round! Just a short walk

Somewhat naked face..very pale :(

Each model have 2 sets of clothing (I'm on the top right! ^^)

Behind the 'stage'..lol

My Bohemian themed outfit! <3

My makeup look.. and yes those false bottom lashes @_@

This is such a new look for me. I actually kinda like it!
Might try to diversify my style now :p

Group pic! But of course, there were more models than the 7 of us here :)

Practicing catwalk before showtime!

Gorgeous ladies I made friends with!

My second outfit!
Absolutely love this pairing!! (might just buy the whole set..)

If not mistaken, the high-waisted floral shorts is Rm59
and the cute skull top is Rm49

I swear my eyes are open!
but the heavy falsies and the big bulky specs make them look like they're closed. >_<

After I was done with the fashion show, I had to rush back to One Utama to get my free makeover.. mum bought quite a lot of stuff from Eucerin and if you purchase a certain amount, you get a free makeover + facial (but I'm doing my facial tmrw).

*tadaaaaaa!* My after result! The osm makeup artist used all Lancome cosmetics
and did a smokey eye for me :)

Hair was let down with a more natural wave!

OOTD & FINALLY HOME SWEET HOME.

VIP Usher for George Benson's Performance

Hello! It's been a while since my last post because I've been busy with uni. Just started my Year 2 this week :) Was lucky enough to get myself a One Republic concert ticket by helping a friend to usher VIP's to the cocktail reception area for George Benson's performance in KLCC. George Benson is a very famous American jazz musician. He is currently on a tour to promote his latest album 'Inspiration' which you can find out more here: http://www.georgebenson.com/ .  It was my first time working with JS Productions and it was pretty cool because coincidentally, I was paired to work with Rachel (my friend's gf!).  Also made friends with a guy named 'PJ', who wouldn't tell us his real full name. lol.

OOTD, black formal

PJ and Rachel

My "All Access" pass ;p

The cocktail reception area for VIP's

Mini banner stand for people to take pictures.
They had red carpet as well, for the BIG VVIP's (Sultan, Datuk & Datin all came)

Me and Rachel (please excuse ma overdone brows. was rushing!)
The highlight of the night for both of us has got to be the picture we took with a Japanese guy! He just randomly walked up to me and asked if he could take a picture with me...then went to do the same with Rachel. I was telling her maybe he will go back Japan and show his friends telling them this is what Malaysian girls look like. Haha.

Night view of the twins! Sho purdy right? ^^

Was super exhausted after a whole day of lecture and work. Could have stayed for his performance but I decided not to cause I promised to have dinner with a friend! Btw, do bear with the bad pic quality. My camera is still being repaired!

Never Enough Women

Have you ever skipped meals? Have you ever felt the need to hide under dark clothing? Have you tried slimming pills? Im sure, most of us girls out there have done the aforementioned. Getting fit and staying lean isn't easy. Wanting to look good in that pair of skinny jeans and sleeveless top is hard and we all know it takes a lot more than motivation to get the ideal body. What I'm going to introduce to you is something very exciting and new. My bestie who studies in Raffles College have finally completed her graduation project through the production of NE.W.

NE.W which stands for 'Never Enough. Women', is a company founded by women for women. They create fashionable sports bra that is not only unique but also multi-functional. Basically, we all know how important it is to get the perfect fit when looking for a bra right? Well, it's as important when purchasing a sports bra (if you don't wear sports bra you better start! later old already boobs saggy and out of shape then you know :p). But it gets better, imagine being able to wear sports bra that not only helps encapsulate your boobies well, but is also reversible and shines or glows in the dark! And it doesn't stop there, the sports bra that NE.W produces are one of a kind with great designs and some even comes with a detachable hoodie! Osm right?! :D

For me, I do go to the gym every once in a while and try to break up a sweat whenever I can. But due to my health condition, I can't do vigorous workout routines as often as I would want to. What is most important for me when purchasing a sports bra besides having good support is the looks of it. Cmon, if it looks ugly you wouldn't buy it right.....must also look nice in the gym mah ;) Just on Friday I was the makeup artist for NE.W's sportswear photoshoot and when I laid eyes on those sports bra, I was like *gasps, omg! I WANT THEM! GOT MY SIZE ANOT! HOW MUCH?!* Even the model and the sewing assistant really liked the collections (yeap, it was that good ^^).

Instead of making normal plain sports bra, NE.W combined fashion and sports together to inspire and motivate people to workout. And for those who like to go raves, you should definitely take a look at their collection. NE.W's sports bra is absolutely perfect for a crazy partying night out! With all that jumping and sweating, you'd want to wear something comfortable that gives ultimate support for your boobs and also look hot and fab ;)

They have 2 main collections - 'Animal in You' & 'The adrenaline'. Each collection have 5 individual designs which come in only one piece! (meaning the one you decide to purchase in the ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD). The sports bra price ranges from Rm99-Rm129, still very affordable! NE.W will be setting up a booth at Fahrenheit 88 from 25th of Sept up until 29th. Better grab them early while you can!

Here's some sneak peak pictures of the sports bra. I've definitely never seen anything like them before and I love the whole concept. It wasn't only just a great experience for me being the makeup artist but I'm also thankful to be able to be the first few to review the product! Do drop by their booth and checkout NE.W's exclusive creation! (Remember to mention my name too! Maybe can get discount :p)

The pursuit of Ambition

I'm sure most of you guys have been at a fork road when you had to decide which course you'd want to take to further your studies. I was there too, for a pretty damn long time. After SPM or equivalent to the O-levels, I had NO CLUE what I wanted to be or study or do in the future. All I know was, I love colours, art and everything beauty related (not just physical beauty of human but also nature and objects). We used to take all sorts of personality test to see what characteristics we own which would suite better in certain fields, however mine was always quite messed up which did not help me in deciding what to pursue.

Well, initially my very first ambition was to be an air stewardess. But when I told my family, they didn't seem too fond of the idea (grandma left newspaper cuttings on my table regarding report of an air stewardess who died in a crash and how the constant pressure up in the air affects ovaries and birth rate) lol. Then I wanted to study 'Cosmetology', but my parents felt like it wasn't a proper course to take. When I finally decide to study 'Fashion Designing' or 'Graphic Designing', my parents again talked me out of it saying that it's hard to get a well paid job if you're not super famous and all that. Sighs. When I opted for 'Hospitality & Tourism', grandpa told me it's no good to serve people for the rest of your life and when everyone else is on vacation and having holidays, you're going to be super busy.....Because I changed to arts stream when I was in highschool, I couldn't do engineering or be a chemist or a doctor or anything like that..(even though I secretly know that is what my family would have preferred).

So finally it was between 'Mass Communication' and 'Psychology'. Clearly, I chose Psychology. I love infants, kids and children. I know this sounds stupid but I've always believed that people do bad things for good reasons in desperate situations. There are those though, whose mind aren't as healthy and strong and do bad things with no positive intention...and I wish to help them regain stability. I think that the development of habits and perception are strongest at a young age because it is imprinted and nurtured subconsciously. Besides, most of the cases I've studied usually relates back to certain childhood experience, which is why I want to help treat kids in the future, to make sure they don't go cray cray and act cray cray when they're adults (if possible)  :) People always think that psychologists can read minds BUT seriously we can't!! We read your behaviour and body language. Not your thoughts :p

Anyway, I like having accomplish a lot of things in life (to strike it off my bucket list :p) and thus I have a thirst to try new things and explore. I'm usually okay with having things decided for me but recently I've got this urge to want to juggle the things I WANT and NEED to do at the same time to satisfy myself and my family!

Just yesterday, I helped my bestie with her graduation project by being the makeup artist for her model. I've got to say I'm quite surprised that she (model Vanessa) actually liked how I did her makeup and even wanted my contact to recommend me to her boss! Gosh, even though I have a strong passion for make up, I don't have a qualification or the proper tools! But yet, it made me felt soo *happyexcitedimpressedcombo* <3 Macam that feeling of being good at something ya know? A small achievement makes a big difference!

Me doing Vanessa's make up for a sportswear photoshoot

That really made me do a lot of thinking. Degree in Psychology is just a stepping stone. Despite having a lot of disapproval from my family, I'm still going after what I love to do but only after I've graduated. Meanwhile, I'll do freelance part time jobs (email me if anything! @belle.wsy@hotmail.com) to earn some extra $$$ so I can take up Spanish and maybe pay for my Cosmetology course! ^^ Well, hopefully all goes well! *ps! Wait for my next post about NE.W, a very unique and special sports bra ;)*

Phuket Paradise

Sawadika! I'm back from a 4D3N vacation trip to Phuket with ma family (mum, sister, bro-in-law and I) ! :D It was FUN and I'm definitely going back to Thailand one day <3 What I love about Thailand so far is definitely the people there. They're so polite and nice! Most of them know how to speak English so there's nothing to worry about. Although flooded with tourists from all over the world, it somehow felt safer over there compared to Msia...like, you can just wear a bikini and carry your purse without constantly worrying someone is going to rape you or snatch your stuff. And the availability of booze! Gosh, it's pretty cheap to buy drinks there! (too bad my family aren't much of drinkers) We stayed in ACCA hotel in Patong, which was about an hour drive from the airport. *As I personally don't like reading a super long post on other people's blog, I shall let the pictures do the talking kay? :)*

Took Air Asia cause of the cheap flight ticket to Phuket! :p

Phuket's airport, so pretty and nicely decorated with flower stands!

look at those cray cray wires ._.

If you forget to bring international plug head, just ask them!
Besides, its located very near the shopping mall and just a few minutes walk to the beach.

All types of drinks. What you want they have, what you don't want, they have also. lol

I saw so many corals and weird sea creatures (I got so close to them I could hear the fish flapping their fins!! There's even rainbow colored ones) Too bad my iphone wasn't able to capture any nice pics in the water.

It was a CRAY CRAY "WE NEARLY DIED" ride back to the Phuket airport from the hotel. The taxi driver was driving so fast downhill..and mum said he looked like he was falling asleep! He also stopped to pump petrol but wanted to start the engine while the guy behind was still filling! Omg damn scary lol.

Flight was delayed for 1hour so...Dunkin Donuts!
Caffe Mocha

Vanilla Bavarian

Charcoal Praline!**
(really like this one because it's fluffy and not too sweet)

Finally home sweet home! Took the cab from LCCT back to BU and had a nice talk with the driver. He was telling us how the Europeans love to go to Thailand because it's a free country and everything comes by easily. He said that if Msia was managed properly, it would have been the richest country in Asia. (I agree!)

All in all, it was a really nice experience and a long needed getaway vacation. Although my sister and Andrew told me that many people were "Eye Raping" me while I stayed "sotong" (meaning blur and ignorant), I really did enjoyed myself. Wished I could have done more activities though...I guess that gives me another reason to go back? HEHE
